Premature Pig pincushion

This pig isn’t finished. Obviously, hence the title. But it’s coming out so beyond awesome..I just had to share!

I got this little piggy over the summer at a yard sale. I originally bought him for my son, as he walks and snorts. allegedly.

I mean, hell, he was fifty cents, but I was assured he would work with new batteries.

Dammit. So as per usual, I forgot to take a before photo, but it’s the exact same as these piggies, but in black

He did not work, new batteries or not.

So I have kept him under my desk for months, and while undergoing a table change out in the studio, I found him.

While wandering on Pinterest, looking for ideas for my plastic animals, I found tiis

After I found my little broken piggy, I put him on top of my desk with other things I must do something with or just throw out!

He ended up beside a failed idea, the pincushion out of a jar, which looked simple, but didn’t come out as I wanted. I saved it because, well, I’m a hoarder.

Oops, no complete picture. Because I hated it so much. But you get the idea.

There they were, sitting beside each other, and me, surveying the mess that I have accumulated over the past few years, and var lar! Into my head it fell.

First, I liquid nailed the battery conpartmebt

I painfully let it dry overnight, as everyone knows how I hate waiting/performing proper steps, etc.

The second I got the child to sleep, I stared on making the gaudiest and largest version of the plastic toy pincushion I could.

Next, I cut a saddle shape out of some yellow fabric scrap and lines the outside with pink sequin ribbon junk I had in my scrap pile from diaper cakes. Are you surprised I had that crap lying around?

You. Should. Not. Be. Surprised. I mean,

Sewed on the failed pincushion jar top

Sans lid, of course. I had only hot glued it, so I just yanked it off.

I then proceeded to make the gaudiest beading my sleepy 12 o’clock self could fathom. I was upset at the 12:39 mark, because I had to stop and go to bed. Dammit to hell.

I am especially excited about the bottom little dangly things, of which I got the idea at like 12:22 after raiding my moms bead collection and finding the huge clear beads.

I CAN’T WAIT, like literally cannot wait to finish this one!
