Fabric book cover, art portfolio?

Have I mentioned how much I lurve the Scrap Exchange? If you do any type of art type junk, and you live in the old triangle of Raleigh/Durham/chapel hill, it’s the place to go. They have everything.

So I got this awesome wallpaper sample book for like, $3 or $4.

So I ripped all the awesome little pieces of wallpaper out, to be used at a later time for God only knows what, hoarder.

I have a portfolio, but It was my make up portfolio, and as I am still holding on to if for sentimental purposes, I wanted one that wasn’t just a basic plain ass black standard portfolio for my art project book.

I decided to cover in with this great green fabric I got from the guy that sells upholstery fabric at the state fairgrounds, and luckily I had enough left over after I made the tree skirt that I haven’t posted yet due to the phone/photo issue.

This, I thought, would be a perfect project for this random glue I found, called Mighty Mendit. I have absolutely no clue where it came from, but it sounded promising. And I was out if my current favorite, liquid nails.

disclaimer: please excuse and carpet fuzz, feet, toys, or shoes that show up randomly in my photos. I am too lazy to crop, and also too blind.

My hatred of rulers, as always, abounded, so I used my subpar eyesight and the iron to make the edges as straight as possible.

I was doing pretty good until I got to this unruly but important area.

True to Camille form, I ignored it until the last second, and decided instead to start glueing.

Also In true Camille form, only now did I read the product was extremely flammable. I read this while it was sitting on the ironing board, beside the hot ass iron.

Oh well! Decided the return back to the aforementioned nemesis of the project.

I felt the problem was solved to my quality control.

May I mention, mighty mendit is a mighty large pain in the ass to squeeze, my God, it’s like cement.

And done. And I didn’t take a photo of it closed. Oops.

I did, however, take a picture of the inside. How helpful.

Business card holder! Woot!

I gotta cover up that gold lettering with something though.. Something like this?

I’ll post a completed photo when I get home. Sooorrryy.
