Blackbeards Beard Extensions

After that damned frock coat debacle, this was a pretty easy project.

Plain old hair extensions from the beauty supply, braided.

Red bows sewn on.

Braids at varying lengths to look more, er, natural?

And voila! Or something like that.

Bobby pinned in for now, will sew in wig chippy soon as I buy them.

Turned out well for his first appearance this weekend.

For the record, my own personal one that I keep, I made the hat, beard extensions, coat, and sewed the ruffles on the sleeves of the shirt I found. The collarless white shirt. And I also removed the front pocket of said shirt and steamed it until the stitch holes no longer showed.

This was interesting. I had never before looked at Blackbeard’s beard AND CONTEMPLATED just how that came about. Enjoyed this 🙂

I’m sure blackbeards actual beard was dreaded, but since Shane cannot get his beard past a certain length, both due to follicular growth patterns and sanitary purposes from my cleaning view, this was the next best thing!
