An evening with David Sedaris

On Friday, I will be attending An Evening with David Sedaris at the Durham Performing Arts Center.  I have 2nd row tickets..and I cannot describe my glee!

But yet..I am completely freaked out.  For those not familiar with his genius, not only do I cry real tears for your ignorance, I demand you check his list of books on his Wikipedia page and read them all.  Immediately.  Then, read this book, one he compiled of his favorite authors exerts, one which introduced me to a myriad of amazing writers.

In 2007, at a deftones concert, I was unexpectedly punched in the back of the head over a drum head.  This led to me getting to meet the band, watching Rob & Big with Chino, and singing the damned theme song from Dora the explorer.  Somehow.

Point being, I had no clue I even had a chance at meeting them so I wasn’t nervous.  But with David Sedaris, who frequently does signings…I could possibly meet him! Then, he reads his diary entries at other shows and discusses the people he meets.  He mentions smelly perfumes, poorly choosen outfits, nice hair. I want to be interesting!  I want to have nice hair (I do NOT)!

whatever to do…
