Robert doll..secret accessory revealed!

In the photo I am working from, well, one of the two, Robert is smoking.

So I made a cigarette.

But does one smoke constantly? No, one does not. The dilemma comes in. How to make a detachable accessory..for the mouth.

Can’t use velcro, would look stupid. Equally stupid would be any kind of snap, tie, or button type device.

Much to my own annoyance, I tore the end of the fabric cigarette apart and inserted a tiny, albeit strong, magnet. Made sure it would still connect to the other magnet thru fabric. Check.

Then I made a tiny bag out of the skin colored fabric and inserted another magnet. Checked again for attachment value. Worked!

Then, ugh, I ripped the seam from the back of the head and pulled the stuffing out. Attached the fabric bag with black thread so it would blend well with the black thread stubble of the beard.

Another quality control test was performed, and to my amazement IT WORKED!! My ideas never work this well!!

Re-stuffed the head, re-stitched the seam, and viola!

Tested and re-tested multiple times with sweet results.

I am a genius.
