Frida.

Project 1 of 4:

After discovering that the monotonous act of repetition is calming from making these for nursery doors:

I decided to make more complex button crap.  First project was Marilyn, a complex, time consuming waste.

After making and taking apart 3 times, I still consider it awful.  But, as with anything I do, my first try with anything is a failure.  I have it framed to stare down at me in a judgemental fashion, reminding me that the mantra ” if at first you don’t succeed, try and try again”, doesn’t always ring true.

With Frida, I learned from my mistake of rushing, and made complex schematics and diagrams and measurements so she would look right.  I’m not sure where I stand with it right now, so I am trying to take a break from it.

I am also running low on skin colored buttons.  It is impossible to find good buttons in Raleigh.  In what is supposed to be a crafty town, I find the different shades and tiny sized button selection lacking.
